When Atchison Topeka shut down their warehouse in Gloucester, they relocated the office to a custom built warehouse in Droitwich, this meant that they had to move 32,000 boxes of stored records.

All of those boxes were monitored by Cave Tab's file tracking software so they called Cave Tab to help them with the move. Cave Tab sent a representative out to see the existing system and assess the scale of the job.
With 32,000 boxes all needing to be relocated, fifteen extra bays of shelving were constructed along the back wall of the Droitwich warehouse in order to accommodate them.
Because the Droitwich site did not use any file tracking software, Cave Tab installed a small tracking system, taking the opportunity at the clients request to upgrade them from the old File Tracker software to the new web-based FileTrail system.

Getting With The Program
With only two weeks in which to complete the project, work went quickly; as the boxes were already being tracked, they had already been assigned unique barcodes but those assigned to the existing shelves would no longer be of any use.
Cave Tab generated new barcodes for each shelf at Droitwich and a program was then written allowing all the data from the old File Tracker system to be migrated into the new FileTrail system, making sure along the way that the box barcodes corresponded to their new location barcodes. Once this had been done, all 32,000 boxes were transported to the new warehouse by Atchison Topeka and placed in the new shelving.
